Who We Are...
IPPNY is a New York State trade association representing approximately 100 companies involved in the development of generation, marketing and sale of electric power and natural gas. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies and fuel types such as cogeneration, nuclear, hydro, coal, wind, landfill waste, resource recovery, and biomass, IPPNY member companies produce approximately 75 percent of New York State's electric power.

IPPNY's objective is to advance the interests of its members: competitive generators, power marketers and other suppliers to the energy industry. IPPNY advocates state and federal policies that will result in a fully competitive electric power supply marketplace. IPPNY ultimately supports the formation of a competitive marketplace where existing commitments such as independent power contracts are honored and in which all customers have a choice of electric suppliers.

Who Should Attend...
Anyone with a stake in New York's evolving energy industry should attend the IPPNY Fall Conference, including:

  • policy makers;
  • developers and operators of electric generation projects;
  • power marketers;
